Studio Sharise Creative & Performing Arts Academy's Young Performers Program enables theater-loving kids to develop confidence, character, leadership, and performance skills through our Mainstage productions.
The goal of our Young Performers Program is to train students in gaining greater levels of confidence, ownership, artistry and performance beyond their regular class work. Students will develop an understanding and commitment to each other, to the work, to the arts community, and their fellow-man. Older students will also gain a competitive edge if pursuing arts as a major or minor in college, or desire a career in the arts field and/or as an arts educator.
Young Performers Program in A Little Bit of Showbiz
Students enrolled in 1 or more classes at Studio Sharise have the opportunity to participate in our Young Performers Programs
Students in our graded and upper level classes are expected to participate in SS production as participation offers artistic, technical and emotional growth opportunities, both individually and as a team.
Every student who auditions (when applicable) and has been enrolled in classes and production since the beginning of the production period will get a part to play. Any student who joins classes or the production after the beginning of the production period, will be cast in the chorus or as an understudy, and will also be vitally involved in the technical side of the show. We find this policy to be necessary to the cohesiveness of the show.
Students joining after the beginning of the season will have the wonderful opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes as they assist in areas of costuming, props, running sound and lights, set building and other technical aspects necessary in putting on a show. They may also have the opportunity to work as an assistant director, stage manager or assistant choreographer!
There are many roads a student can take in the field of the theatre, dance, and drama and we, at Studio Sharise Creative & Performing Arts Academy, wish to introduce them to as many possibilities and paths as possible.
For ages 5-7
There are no auditions, only great fun in getting ready to put on a show! Every student gets a part to play!
Students enrolled in our Little Burbank Players Class will perform in informal performances for family and friends and have the opportunity to perform in our June Celebration Performance. Rehearsals are usually held during regular class time.
Rehearsals, for students who participate in our Little Performers Program,
are held outside of regular class time.
