Here's where your young thespian begins their training and develops their love for the theatre. Your child will explore movement, music & song, mime, puppetry, costume making, acting and more Different fun themes are introduced throughout the year to keep children excited and eager to learn. Children are taught in an encouraging, uplifting environment with lots of laughter and tons of FUN!
Classes begin with a brain/body warm up to "shake out the sillies" and help get students focused on the day's learning. Fun physical and vocal warm ups, creative music explorations, and team building activities, follow. We will then create our costumes, masks, or scenery and rehearse our play that they can't wait to perform for you during our parent share day!
As part of our Theatre Kids classes, students will begin their adventure into music with the fun and exciting Music Box curriculum designed by renowned music teacher and innovator, Lynn Kleiner. Using the Orff Approach, children learn about music on a level that they can easily comprehend. Musical concepts are learned through singing, chanting, dance, movement, drama and the playing of percussion instruments. Improvisation, composition and a child's natural sense of play are encouraged! Students will develop a love of music along with a strong foundation in music education.
Along with our informal, low pressure share days for family and friends, children will also perform in our June Celebration Performance.
