A dancer's health and safety are our top priorities and we believe in a building block approach to succeeding "en Pointe". The first brick is laid with our Power Pointe Conditioning class which begins to build the necessary strength and flexibility needed for future pointe work. Students will be screened and assessed throughout the year to ensure their continual progress.
Exercises in our LVL1 My Beginner Pointe Program are done barefoot (and with socks) so students become kinesthetically and visually aware of every movement they make. This enables students to make the necessary corrections needed to ensure a healthy dance life. Once a student can successfully accomplish the given exercises barefoot, we increase the difficulty through the challenge of wearing demi-pointe shoes - thus preparing them for a smooth transition from flat to pointe.
Power Pointe LVL 2 My Beginner Pointe Program bridges the gap between the first pair of demi-pointe shoes to the advanced-professional program. Lvl 2 progresses through pointe stages that will prepare students for our advanced - professional program.
Power Pointe LVL 3 My Pointe Program is for the advanced - professional pointe student requiring the challenge and development of artistry a student needs to enter the professional world of ballet.
Students in Power Pointe class must be at least 9 years old and attend other dance classes (Grade 1 or higher) at Studio Sharise Creative & Performing Arts Academy.
Studio Sharise Power Pointe classes are perfect for the pointe-pursuing dancer and also other dancers (including boys) who are interested in gaining better strength, alignment, flexibility, power, and endurance in their dancing. Power Pointe is part of our Dance Elite intensive dance program geared towards students who are ready to make achieving their personal best a priority.
